Rogue Trader Friday (Modeling): Imperial Guard
Some of my favorite minatures feature as a companion to "Rogue Trader Friday" at From the Warp.
I fell in love painting miniatures by getting a great gold look on the breastplates of the officers.
My favorite was always the standard bearer with his plumed helmet.

They are some really cool mini's considering their age. Cheers for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've got a whole pleb of RT era Imperial Guardsmen. I did have them as conscripts until the new codex when they got remade (and repainted) as mortar teams (I have 15).
ReplyDeleteThe models were awful, the cover graphics were about the best bit. Most of the men look like they should be shouldering heavy loads and the ones that stand up look like they're doing yoga.
But it was about £12 for 30.
They were also very easy to convert (thanks to the soft plastic) so lots of ours ended up as retinues, chaos worshippers or (my personal favourite) genestealer cult covens.
Little scratchy place in my heart for the little men. Awwww.
Oh the days when guard had jetbike, land speeders and land raiders. Those were the days ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing mate.
